Please find below a list of training and exercises designed for individuals,
teams and joint organizations. Training and exercises are designed for
basic, intermediate and advanced levels to meet the needs of your
organizations requirements. All training and exercises can be modified to
meet your organizations goals, objectives and requirements.
Scenario-Based Training CBRNe Lanes
DSI has been providing scenario-based training for our nation’s first
responders for over 10 years. Scenario-based training is the most realistic
training available. We provide training to the entire team not just the
downrange section of your team. Each and every member of your team will
be included in a scenario written by DSI. We at DSI have provided more than
200 training lanes over the years. From 1 to 63 agencies in a single scenario
with 18 to over 3000+ participants.
DSI’s personnel are highly skilled and come from the CBRNe community. Just
one of our mobile training teams has over 160 years of combined experience.

Target Area of Interest Assessment (TAIA) Program
This week long training program provides team members with the tips, tactics
and procedures to deploy equipment and personnel at major events. This
hands-on training is key to mission success.
DSI’s training philosophy is:
•
What we here forget.
•
What we see we remember.
•
What we do we understand.
This class is only available to first responders, DOD and government
agencies.
Dispersible and Sealed Source Radiological Training
Yes, you heard it right, dispersible radiological training. The only place in the
United States that your team can receive this type of training. DSI’s Richland,
Washington location provides sealed source and dispersible radiological
sources in a RDD training scenario.
This class is only available to first responders, DOD and government
agencies.
IED Awareness Program
Being aware of your surroundings is key to your survival. Keeping your head
on a swivel and engaging in situational awareness will make your team and
community a safer place. DSI provides a hands on awareness and
identification course for first responders, DOD, government agencies,
industrial customers in the business community. There are many levels of
classes to choose from. DSI believes in tailoring each class to its customer’s
needs.
Some classes are only available to first responders, DOD and
government agencies.
Decontamination (DECON) Training
Decontamination is a key element in a successful HAZMAT or CBRNe
situation. Keeping the contaminants in the hot zone and not in the cold
zone is the goal of every first responder and Incident Cmdr.
It is incredibly important to understand your equipment and how to use
it. Therefore DSI sends a mobile training team to your location for
hands-on training. DSI can also assess your teams equipment,
procedures and capabilities and assist you in updating and modernizing
your capabilities.
Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC)
DSI’s instructors are some of the best in the United States. There are
many locations around the country that DSI has access to provide EVOC
training. However our primary locations are in Washington state.
Labware Recognition Course
Whether it’s a beaker, flask, addition funnel or some other piece of
labware DSI has a class. Not only do we focus on traditional labware
and processes, but we also focus on clandestine and makeshift labware
and process. Depending upon your knowledge base DSI has 2, 3 and 5
day classes available for your team members.
Lab Process Recognition
As a first responder it is key to your survival to be able to recognize
laboratory processes. Whether a Fentanyl lab, homemade explosives or
chemical warfare agent lab, knowing the difference may save your life.
We have many different classes to select from, so just send us an email
in will get the proper information into your hands.
Firearms Training in PPE
Most agencies personnel find it easy to fire a weapon. However when
we don level A, B or C HAZMAT equipment all of that changes.
When we have multiple layers of plastic between our eyes and the
gunsight things change. When we have multiple layers of gloves on our
hands things change. When we have PPE covering our ears or making
noise things change. It is our obligation to provide you with the lessons
learned over the years to make the adjustments needed to send
around downrange.
It is also important to understand how to deal with firearms that have
been in the hot zone and how to preprocess and DECON your weapons.
Equipment and Instrumentation Training
Understanding how to use your equipment is one of the most
important necessities of a team. Trusting your equipment, team
members and processes are key to a successful outcome. All of DSI’s
team members have operated the same equipment that your
organization or team has. We are intimately aware of their efficiencies,
deficiencies and maintenance needs.
DSI is also happy to assist you with any repair or maintenance of your
equipment.
Again we have many classes to choose from so send us an email for
more information on your team’s needs.
